Just heard the news that the Dicbreakers is no more and you all have been made redundant. 😢. As a 60yo Australian who started role-playing in the early 1980's without the internet , the recent years have provided a great number of different review and discussion sites that are mostly from the USA so it's been refreshing to see your commentary on games from the UK along with the "Shut up and Sit down" guys. You will be missed and hopefully I will find you back in action somewhere soon.

I'm really tired of all TCG just using the same mana system from MTG... like is there no originality anymore? Why can't anybody come up with another way to play a card game???

Fun play through. Great group! I was skeptical of a player cat at first but quickly realized that if the right person is playing the cat it can take the game to a new level. Great job!

formats need to be established that allow different levels of the rares and unique legality in the way pauper in MTG is. i can already see only a handful of the unique printings of cards being strictly better than all the others making a select few people and their decks strictly better in tournament play. the people who buy the singles to play might end up getting punished for not sinking tons of money into packs in order to crack a unique card let alone one that is optimal for their strategy. if im playing competitively or casually i have no intention of buying expensive rares and uniques or cracking boxes on boxes of packs just so that I can compete.

A little late to the party, but I just got the news re: the redundancies and the appalling way you guys have been treated by IGN. Along with expressing my deep sympathise with you all, and how hard it must be to see a site you work on for so many years to just be picked apart outside of your control, I also wanted to say how sorry I am that this is probably the last episode of Story Breakers. It really sucks that we’ll never get to see the end of such a unique and fun story. One that has clearly been crafted with a lot of thought, work and love, that I and I know a lot of others found a great deal of joy in. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this for us, and I’m sorry it never got the conclusion it deserves.

In older DG your job is not to hide the horror. The mythos presence is reaching a level where it spills into the public. Your antagonists in MJ-12 tries. Your most important task is to maintain the operational security of DG. The starting game includes a weirdo flipping SWAT vans around a major US city. Your task is not to hide this, but make sure no one knows who the weird feds in Chemturion suits were.

Would love to see a comparison between FLs Alien and TKGs Mothership. Great actual plays out there for both systems. My favorite AP right now for Mothership is "The Panic Table - Unaccompanied Miners" here on UA-cam, not sure if Dicebreakers have done one yet, but would love to see it.

Hello nice to see these recommandations. Living in Germany I have little contact to the games in America. Kids on bikes is a little like "Tales from the loop" here. I totally agree with the one ring. Tolkien lives forever. May I add some systems. Cthulhu would be nice, Star wars is good for starting, because everyone knows the background. What about Vampire the masquerade - I enjoyed being a Vampire in the 90th. And - as a German I have to say this: The dark eye... ;-)

i just picked up the illumineers quest (first time touching lorcana) But ive played a lot of magic the gathering. Seeing the shift ability made me think to look it up to double check as id assume if you shifted a card onto character that was dry it would be able to challenge or exert that turn. That is indeed the case but it wasnt mentioned in the video from what i heard. Makes some cards like Mulan elite archer really fun when she comes out with a buff and triple shots. havent played a game yet but were going to challenge the quest and fight ursula tonight!

One quick note about Delina, she exiles the tokesn at the end of combat, but it doesn't specify your own combat or only for that turn's combat phase. So every copied creature will have an exile trigger put on the stack at the end of every combat phase :(

Champions is a great Super Hero RPG also. It has a lot of math, but you can play any type of hero that you want. It's one of the original Super Hero RPGs to boot, so it has a lot of old school goodness about it. For a little more cash, it has a Java based character generator that takes care of the math for you.

Are you sure you can play "Rip and Tear" with only 1 heart? You don't lose immediately upon shattering the 1 heart?

I still don't understand the cost of ink. Example: I have 6 ink in my inkwell. I play a new character card which costs 3. Then next turn, ink is dry, I want to use that character card. Am I correct in my understanding that every time I use that character to quest or challenge it cost 3 ink?

I'd say this comparison can be clarified a bit if you think of it as The X-Files meets True Detectives SE1. Like true detective your agents are becoming increasingly unhinged and damaging their personal relationships as a result while unable to reach out to others in authority to help and hiding terrible secrets that eat away at you.

Aside from Warhammer I have never heard of any of those titles. They sound like low supply soon to be unavailable products. I could be wrong. When I think of miniatures wargames, I presume it is wargames and miniatures. I think of GHQ minis. I think of 72nd scale model soldiers. I think of conventional military historical actions. I have last year really gotten into a title called Nuts!. Very good for squad level actions. There are likely quite a few titles available through Wargame Vault via DrivthruRPG, all great designs. But you didn't mention them. That is sad.
